White Embroidered Top (available in Green/Navy), Denim Shorts (similar on sale, similar dark denim), White Chucks (Blue version, Slip-On version)
Linen is such a summer essential, the durable and super luxurious fabric is one of my absolute favorites. Lately while shopping I have paid extra close attention to types of fabric my clothing is made of. As you can imagine, the Georgia heat can be intense, mixed in with a ton of humidity (unless you are floating at the pool in a swimsuit) everything will seem heavy and clingy. While most might not adore linen’s crinkly nature I have found an ideal combo; the linen/cotton blend. After random down pours all weekend long and more humidity in the air, I ended up wearing this top all weekend long, looked great with white jeans as well.
This White Embroidered Top first caught my eye several weeks ago, loved the embroidered detailing, the fun tassels and the puffy sleeves from the elbow down and of course the linen/cotton blend. After a quick try on, I knew I had to have it. Wearing a size 0, as I have mentioned before depending on the brand, make or style I can shift between a 00, 0 or 2. It does fit true to size and is available in petites as well. I also love the Green & Navy version; would look great with dark denim or white denim. Most of my linen/cotton blend tops are super easy to care for, just throw in the wash and hang to dry; I will use an iron on occasion but since the cotton/linen blend does not crinkle as much, it’s not always necessary.
All the random down pours this summer, I have noticed I check the weather app more than anything else. As soon as the rain stops and the sun starts to peek through the clouds we end up being outdoors, though it doesn’t do much for my hair it’s nice to just be out and about.
Decided to put on my White Chucks this past weekend for a more casual look, also love this slip on version here. Converse have been around for years and regardless of your age, you’re never too young or too old to own a pair. I haven’t quite convinced Arnel to get them, but I am working on it. Another favorite of mine are these Hudson Denim Shorts, I am always on the hunt for a great denim pair but always seem to go back to this style because they fit so well. The fabric is super comfy and stretchy, I also have them in the darker denim, last seen here.
Stay tuned for another post tomorrow on how to style your bookshelves!
