Ann Taylor Ankle Pants (also love these), Talbots Beaded Sweater (also love this one), Vince Loafers (love these under $100, last seen here), Talbot’s Pink Satchel (sold out, available in Black)
The summer has been slowly winding down and roads have cleared of summer travelers and made room for school buses which always reminds me that fall is right around the corner. Though the leaves might be falling, GA doesn’t quite get the fall weather until mid-November which means we can indulge in the great summer sales and bright prints. Playing with patterns and prints is always a great way to add some fun into your wardrobe, it’s just knowing which prints and patterns compliment one another. Another thing that I have worn to compliment my outfits lately are my Vince Loafers (last seen here) and many of you have asked “what are some casual and dressy looks that can be worn with them” which inspired me to create this little series starting with this post, a look that is great for the office, meetings, internships or even back to school.

At times we are often afraid to grab the brightly colored sweater because we think “how often will I actually wear this,” so you reach for the beige, navy or black. And though I am a huge fan of neutrals, I love adding colorful pieces into my wardrobe and incorporating them into my everyday wear. I have also found that a patterned blouse or sweater doesn’t always have to be paired with a solid colored pair of bottoms and vice versa. This recently purchased Turtle Beaded Pink Sweater is a great example of a fun color pattern, the turtles add character and the beads and stitches have touches of blues, greens and black. Keeping those accent colors in mind is how I decided which pair of bottoms to go with! I went with the Seersucker Ankle Pants from Ann Taylor in blue; the pattern (vertical stripes) compliments the blues in the sweater and the blue/white combo look great with the shade of pink. Also a few other patterns that are just perfect; Black Gingham Pants and Daisylace Pants (come in white, blue, black).
As you may have noticed, my Vince Loafers are my favorite purchase from the NSale, also have them in the cognac shade (seen here) and quite honestly have had to stop myself from getting the gray ones because I do that so often. I am known for getting the same item in several colors and I am truly working on that (can’t help myself). They are soft and so comfortable and I highly recommend going a half size down because with wear they will stretch out and the soft suede will form to your foot. I also love these for under $100.

Another favorite has this been this Pink Satchel from Talbots which I fell in love with and haven’t stopped wearing. Arnel even noticed that I haven’t worn a different handbag since I got this one. I am sad to see that it’s sold out but excited that others are enjoying it as much as I am. But on a happier note it is still available in Black and it’s currently on major sale for under $40. Also found a similar version here & and here. Make sure to add fun prints and colors into your wardrobe with complimenting shades and patterns and the results will pleasantly surprise you. Stay tuned for tomorrows look for Day 2 of the series!
