Hope your week is off to a good start!  One of my favorite ways to start off a week is by recapping all the amazing things I got to do and accomplish over the weekend! We got to shoot several upcoming blog posts, spend time with family on Saturday evening and go up to Blue Ridge on Sunday for some Apple Picking. Since the weather has been so amazing lately, we wanted to explore a bit more of Georgia, sometimes paradise is found in your own backyard, in this case it’s not quite our backyard but it’s near by an hour and a half exactly. A friend had recently been up and was sharing pictures of the Smoky Mountains and all the foliage so I made sure to find an Orchard near Blue Ridge so we could have a view of the mountains and do some apple picking while still in season.

We settled on Mercier Orchards and got up early Sunday morning so we could beat the rush. The drive was quite scenic and relaxing and went by pretty quick since Arnel and I were talking up a storm.

I was so eager to pack my Hunter Boots because I had only been able to wear them in the rain; really I wanted to wear them out into the wilderness and get them muddy. Apple picking was definitely a step into the muddier side and the hills definitely gave me a run for my money, but it was one of my favorite day trips thus far. The fields were gorgeous with a wide variety of apples and since we got their pretty early, the trees hadn’t been picked yet.

I wanted to dress up a little so I decided on a skirt instead of pants since I have been on a skirt craze lately. This Corduroy Skirt was a total steal for only $45; the color is a forest green, fit and flare style and sits high waisted. I am wearing an XS but it took a second to get it over my hips. I like my skirts high waisted but if you want it to sit lower then definitely go up a size. I also found this Free People Corduroy Skirt for $50 and it’s the same style that I wore here. I wanted a comfy top and this Ralph Lauren Knit Button Down (wearing a small for reference) that I accidentally ordered, but so glad I did. You may be wondering how I accidentally ordered it, well I wasn’t paying attention to the “knit” part, I thought I was just getting the regular cotton button down that I normally get. But now I am so in love with this version, so comfy and soft! Also fits so well and very flattering. Arnel even mentioned that he liked this style on me and I said no need to compliment me I have already placed another order.

If you live in the Atlanta area then you definitely need to plan a trip up to Blue Ridge, Mercier Orchards specifically; they also have a shop which is pretty packed at all times, but so worth the wait for some delicious fried pies. They are small so don’t worry, you can definitely have a few. We ended up getting a box to go and head to a hillside near a gazebo where we enjoyed the afternoon breeze and a quiet little picnic before we headed back to the city!
