Ralph Lauren Striped Button Up (seen in White here), Ralph Lauren Cable Sweater, Rag & Bone Jeans, Mary Jane Flats (last seen here), Topshop Coat (also love this one)
While in Richmond, Arnel and I decided to visit some of our closest friends who recently got to celebrate their little baby girl’s second birthday. We couldn’t make it to the birthday party 2 weeks earlier since we would be spending Thanksgiving in Richmond already so I made sure to put some time away to visit them. It’s so crazy how time flies seems like just yesterday I was planning my best friend’s baby shower and fast forward 2 years, she has a walking toddler who is as adorable as she can be. I am not even going to lie, it gave me baby fever, but babies are way more work than just cute smiles and adorable play dates. While shopping for adorable baby gifts, I couldn’t help but admire the teeny tiny cable knit sweaters for babies and toddlers, everything just looks so much cuter on them. I ended up picking a cute sweater and top for my favorite toddler, also made sure to pick up some items for myself (guilty, I know).
Layering sweaters and coats has been a favorite lately; it’s also been challenging because I want to stay warm but without looking all bulky. The weather has been quite chilly in the mornings and by the afternoon it warms up a bit so being able to peel off the layers is essential. I can’t tell you how many times I have bundled up then arrived at a restaurant or home attacked with a major hot flash. Now I prefer to put a lighter cotton blouse underneath and a thicker sweater on top, so just in case I do get a little toasty it’s an easy transition and won’t change my outfit drastically.
For great layers I recommend a Soft Knit Button Up with a Cable Knit Crew Neck Sweater. They make a great combo and such a classic look! The button up is extremely soft, it’s an alternative to the classic ones, feels like you are wearing a T-shirt, last seen here in White. The RL sweaters have been around for a while now and I have had my fair share of collecting a few over the years, their quality is impeccable and the colors are perfect for every season. They come in a wide range of shades and fabrics, from cotton to wool and cashmere.
I wore my Rag & Bone Jeans for a casual look and topped it off with my Pink Coat (last seen here). The coat is so cozy, size down since it does run quite big. For an extra sparkle I added these fun Mary Jane Glitter Flats also found these Gold Metallic Loafers (have them in leopard).
If you are looking to wear this outfit to a holiday party or even to work, instead of white jeans I would wear White Cropped Trousers or even Gray Jeans (for a casual dinner party).
