Coat Guide For Women

Coats have been one of my favorite investments lately, not only do they keep me warm but they add so much character to my ensemble. Recently I have started to share a glimpse of my style using insta stories and sharing my out of the day with you all and the most frequently asked question is regarding coats so I thought why not share all my recent purchases and create a guide to help you determine which coat best suits you. So whether you are wearing a pair of wide leg trousers or a fitted dress or even a more casual weekend look, the right coat will complete your look! I am here to help break down and create a coat guide for all the various coats I have recently styled.

Start with a neutral color, try a camel, beige, ivory, black , navy or gray. It’s a classic investment, which will last you for years to come. I also prefer to have my coats hit right above the knee that way I can wear them with all my fancy dresses or  wear them with jeans.  I love a great camel colored coat, it looks great during the winter, reminds me of Olivia Pope and Kate Middleton. You may have noticed one of my favorite Coats from J.Crew is the Lady Coat, seen here. This year, the lady coat has been selling out faster than usual, they still have some left in a few neutral colors. I also love this Topshop Camel Coat that I wore on my recent trip to Virginia, see here.

Most recently I have been branching out with statement coats and pairing them with a simple tops and or jeans, I have also branched out and worn my statement coats with interesting fabrics like these Red Lace Pants that I wore for Thanksgiving, seen here & here. I have selected a few other statement coats like this bright colored one and this lace parka as well as this floral patterened trench.

Lets talk Teddy Coats, like the Pink Teddy Coat I wore here and here. This has been one of the hottest trends of the season and I am not complaining, they are so cozy and look great with casual wear or dressed up attire. I also love all the bright shades they come in from bright pinks to, bright blues and even this burnt red.

Plaid, checkered, houndstooth and all geometric patterned coats might be one of my favorites, love the diverse shades, it gives off an elegant yet edgy vibe, my Blue/Beige Checkered Coat last seen here has been one I have been reaching for, I have loved wearing it with my light blue Thelma Loafers as well as with my nude flats. I also love this black and white one, the length is perfect for the freezing temps that we have had the last few days.
