Our Engagement Story with Solomon Brothers

Engagement Story With Solomon Brothers

Engagement season is right around the corner and I thought this would be a perfect time to share our engagement story with you all since I don’t think I had ever shared it all on the blog.

Arnel and I started dating back in 2012 and honestly from the moment I met him I knew that I would be married to this man, I can’t even explain the feeling but I just felt like we were meant to be together, has anyone else ever felt like that? It was instant chemistry and  we knew we wanted to spend every second together. Of course we were long distance and both were still in college, I was in VA and he was in GA but we spent a ton of weekends and breaks together. We continued dating and after graduating, I knew that I was okay to discuss moving and marriage.

Arnel and I started discussing rings about 2 years after dating, actually I have always casually hinted rings just because lots of my friends had gotten engaged and married so I always knew I had made my mind up on what I wanted, which was always a simple solitaire with a gold band. While trendy rings definitely caught my eye, I simply just wanted something classic and timeless.

Arnel and I decided to look at rings one weekend while I was in Atlanta, we saw a few jewelers but our last appointment of the day was at Solomon Brothers. Let’s just say they left such a great impression, Arnel and I both adored our Salesman, he wasn’t pushy, he showed us exactly what we wanted and talked about customization and selecting the specific diamond and never tried to upsell us. After we left I told Arnel that I loved the diamonds and bands we looked at and that they were honestly my favorite jewelry store thus far.

A few weeks/months went on and we had several trips in the works so I didn’t think much of them since they were planned prior. We had planned our Biltmore Trip a few months in advance and I was super excited to see the flower fields and tour the winery at the end of Spring, it was also a perfect trip right before the summer heat started. We had a pretty packed schedule that day so we decided that when we arrived to the Biltmore to have a picnic by the flower garden, Arnel brought a large picnic blanket and we had packed sandwiches, fruit and dessert. We were both so relaxed and so happy. Since it was during a work week, the crowds were pretty much slim to none which was beyond perfect. We talked about all the things we wanted to see, giggled like we always do, we ate our lunch and just as I was getting ready to clean up and I looked over for a quick second, I find Arnel down on one knee. I instantly started crying and shaking, that I missed half of what he said, I just hugged him so hard I was like yes yes yes.We called our families and of course I couldn’t stop staring at my hands (typical right). But it was seriously the most perfect day and the most perfect picnic.

He picked out the most gorgeous ring, a round brilliant cut diamond with a simple thin yellow gold band! It was exactly what I was looking for and more. I knew for our wedding band, that I would want a vintage style band which is why the classic gold band was perfect for my engagement ring.

If you are browsing for engagement rings then be sure to know that Solomon Brothers also offers other designers like Henri Daussi, Tacori and Verragio and so much more.

My Vintage Diamond Eternity band was also from Solomon Brothers and their selection of wedding bands are impeccable.

Hope you guys enjoyed learning a little bit more about our love and our engagement story!
