Hello It's LOH

Happy Weekend my lovely friends! I have missed talking to you all, it’s been such a crazy past couple of months in terms of pregnancy, work, unexpected things and so on.

This summer I was totally battling first trimester nausea and work, wish I could discuss more about work but I don’t mix work and blogging.

Which also leads me to say, if you feel like you are dealing with an issue in the corporate world, bring it up, staying quiet only puts you in an uncomfortable state and you will forever be your own advocate so make sure to speak up. Recently I spoke up and I am glad I did because as much time as we spend at work, you shouldn’t be miserable and the last thing you want to be is miserable and pregnant (worst combo).

Anywho… lets talk about crazy life changes and how crazy life works. So if you read my blog or keep up you may know that my sister and my brother in law moved up to VA in August. Some who know and new readers who don’t; my sister and I are married to brothers so the 4 of us are pretty close, while they were in Atlanta we pretty much hung out all the time. The reason they moved is because my brother in law got a job offer and my parents live in Richmond so the decision was a no brainer. It’s also where I grew up so it’s what I would consider “home” it’s also a great city to raise a family, has great community vibes, amazing school districts etc.  So when they moved I started feeling super sad and talking to Arnel I mentioned why don’t we try to move up there as well, wishful thinking right? But I was totally bummed, I was thinking our baby girl won’t be able to see her auntie and uncle as much and they won’t be around to see all my growing bump mile stones. But not to worry I blow up their phones and face time now, lol!

Basically I distracted myself with packing for France and tried not to think that our bestest friends were no longer down the street. I get a text from Arnel that says guess who just emailed me, the day before we fly out, I am like who, so he tells me and I am like whattttt no wayyy (super excited and shocked tone) This is a company Arnel had been interested in a while back and I had even forgotten about!  They wanted to get on a call with Arnel, fast forward to us on our first night in Paris, Arnel gets an email about a job offer to work for them. So unexpected right, it’s probably the last email I would expect him to get especially when you are in a new country thousands of miles away from home but that’s how life works, when you least expect it. Arnel accepts the offer, which was actually probably one of our most memorable moments. There we are just unpacking and bam 2 minutes later you are having a real life conversation about what to do next.

Some of you may know and some don’t but Arnel had been working for CNN the last 3.5 years and before that he was working for Turner (Turner owns CNN and other entities). CNN had been so good to us, I say us because I felt like I was part of the company, when Arnel was working late and covering elections that affected me too because I would stay up and wait for him and follow along on TV. I also became fast friends with his colleagues which was super nice! We were just really lucky the last several years and with Arnel’s new offer we were both excited yet super sad at the same time. Growth is important no matter where you are, no matter what you do. It was just time to take on new roles and a new company! So the job is in Atlanta still so we aren’t going anywhere far.

Friday we held a surprise party for Arnel, he hates surprises, he hates any type of attention on him so working out a plan with his co workers to surprise him was super fun and quite entertaining! I also had my last tour of the super cool office space that they have, made me wish I worked in a super cool area (more wishful thinking).

Arnel is usually behind the camera and I don’t always mention about his professional career so I figured I would fill you guys in what’s been happening the last several weeks. He starts his new job tomorrow, YAY! PS, just asked him of  a tour of the office space because I had seen pictures and I am in love so I am already eager to check out the cool spaces!

Hopefully I didn’t bore you guys, figured I should fill you in!

Thanks for always being so supporting and loving, you all make life better!

xoxo
