Favorite Hair Products

The most asked question on the blog and in person is regarding my hair and what products I use, so I wanted to share a few products I continue to use and a few products I have recently tried and incorporated into my beauty routine. When I find an amazing product I tend to stick to it for a while and fortunately have found some of the best products that I just had to share with everyone!

Before I dig in to products want to share some maintenance tips! I try to get a hair cut/trim every few months, I can usually tell when I need it cut since the ends will get tangly making them really tough to comb through. I also stopped using a brush months ago, I had noticed it would get very “poofy” and try when I would use a brush to blow dry my hair instead of a comb and that was simply trial and error. I will say for girls with shorter hair that want volume a great round brush will do the job.

Shampoo: I have broken them down by several shampoo and conditioner combos and brands that I have tried the last several months and wanted to review them (all at different price points). Some are better for dry months and some are just great everyday shampoos!
- Oribe Gold Lust Repair and Restore: Wanted to learn what the hype was all about and it does not disappoint, love that it contains no harsh chemicals, smells absolutely amazing and it’s safe for color treated hair.
- Pureology Hydrate Shampoo & Conditioner: This was a favorite, makes your hair super soft and it’s great for all hair types, it doesn’t have a fruity smell like some of the others but works wonders and makes your hair feel strong and soft
- Aveda Shampure Shampoo & Conditioner: This one might be one of my favorites, it’s a daily shampoo, very gentle on the scalp and hair, filled with calming plants and flowers, makes you feel like you are a spa, I highly recommend it if you are looking for a low maintenance shampoo.
- Nexxus Moisturizing Shampoo & Conditioner: I used this shampoo for like a year straight, it smells like starburst candy and makes your hair feel super soft and luscious, it’s also on the affordable end which makes it that much more wonderful, I also used it during the dryer colder months of the year for added moisture.
AG Leave in Conditioner: I have been using this for ever now, it’s my absolute favorite and go to, a little dot in the palm of your hand will be more than enough, also the smell is so sweet and so good. It’s weightless so your hair won’t feel flat, it’s super light and perfect for all hair types.
Alterna Heat Protectant: In addition to my leave in conditioner I do a few sprays of this on damp hair and comb it through, especially when I am blow drying and or using any type of heat (curling iron and or flat iron). It’s filled with vitamins so your hair won’t feel brittle or dry.
Living Proof Amp: This jar will lasts you for years, I use a small amount and rub it between my finger tips and gently distribute it on the tips of my hair and fluff my hair for added volume
Living Proof Hair Spray: For a night out, I love using this, it doesn’t weigh your hair down or get all crinkly, it still leaves your hair soft and your curls tight. Make sure you spray about a foot away from your hair for best results!
