Isolda Wrap Top, J.Crew Linen Pants (old, similar here), Jenni Kayne Straw Tote, Kaanas White Sandals
There has been so much going on the last few weeks! I started working and had a pretty decent schedule where I was out by 2 on most days but after seeing how the last few weeks have been, I decided I think it’s best that I cut down my schedule some more so now I will be out by noon. As a new mom and a working mom, you want to be able to juggle both things, and while Arnel thought it would be nice for me to just stay home, I personally made the decision to go back because it’s what I needed as well. Now I get the best of both worlds, I get my baby time and I get my adult time.

I have also been getting back into planning for more content and more blog posts which is super exciting because this blog is my first little baby and when I get the free time to write it just feels so good.
There are a few things I have learned while living in the Georgia heat and it’s the importance of appropriate fabric. Yes you read that, fabric is so huge and plays such a crucial role in determining whether you are about to experience the harsh reality of clingy sweaty and sometimes smelly fabrics. Polyester will not be your friend, unless you are someone that has no issues with heat or you just simply don’t sweat, in that case can we switch bodies because that’s what I have been wishing for (jk) sweating is important it’s good for you just the sweaty stains aren’t so cute, it should be left at the gym.

I have collected my fair share of cotton tops, from tank tops to tees to blouses. The first thing I do when I see a top online that I really love is check what it’s made out of and two things that I buy 99% of the time; cotton and linen or both. Not sure if you know but linen tends to wrinkle super easily but if you get pieces that are 50% cotton and 50% linen then they don’t wrinkle as much and are super breathable. If you can’t find that combo then linen and cotton will be your best friends trust me. I used to not care about fabrics but focused on whether it was “cute” and then I found myself applying deodorant and reapplying and pretty much had it on me at all times. But ultimately it’s about finding the source of the problem in my case it was fabrics, they also made me super itchy, anyone else experience that or am I alone?

Well this past weekend we experienced some intense humidity, also I am not sure if you are knew but humidity also causes you not to actually sweat, let me elaborate; but basically during humid days the sweat evaporates at a slower rate causing your body to overheat which is why you feel even “hotter” during humid days. I bring this up because when you are outdoors, at the park or anywhere, fabrics can save you from feeling like you are about to pass out.

This past 4th of July weekend, Arnel and I spent a ton of time outdoors and house hunting, so I made sure to look festive and also wearing my new Cotton Wrap Top by Isolda (currently on sale) and my favorite J.Crew Linen Pants (sold out) but I did find a similar pair here that is a cotton/linen blend. I also love the print, so fun and nautical for the summer!
I also have been loving all the fun print tops, can’t go wrong for the summer, especially when you pair it with a pair of white jeans/pants or even a skirt.
