Intentions and Updates for 2022

It’s been quite a while since I sat down to just write about what’s on my mind and what my intentions are for the year for our selves for each other. The other night I got my journal out that has been staring at me, wanting me to use it. I started small, just writing simple goals for the week, what I need to accomplish by the end of the month. Some were as simple as scheduling delivery pick ups, sending out emails for non work related things, following up on things that have been keeping me up at night.

As for the house, which we get asked about all the time, we have so much that needs to get done before we break ground, things that I had sporadically worked on last year, but now there is no holding off. To catch you all up to speed, we have been working with our Architect Amanda for the last 11 months with designing our home. It takes time to just figure things out, from what you really want and need in your home and the more time you have the more you start to add to that wish list.

There is still so much that needs to be done, while majority of it will be handled by our general contractor, there are a few things that we as property owners have to finish up before everything can start in the spring (fingers crossed).

It’s also such a busy season in our careers, Arnel starts at a new company this month and we are just so excited and proud of him. January is also a big month work wise for myself so we are just trying to stay focused and positive. We are both still working from home and have Sofia with us full time, so juggling a toddler and work has it’s challenges to say the least. There are times where we think about putting her in a school program, but then another variant hits and we back out.

This has been our new norm, much like the rest of the world, but I have decided that it’s just the way it is for now, that I can’t simply be so hard on myself. That hopefully this isn’t something we deal with forever and that eventually we will pivot in a new direction. There is so much mom guilt, that Sofi isn’t getting enough play time with other children or is she being challenged or stimulated enough. I ease those worries at times by telling myself, everything can be taught, learned, re-learned but being healthy is the most important. Basically if you see me talk to myself, just keep on going!

A new year for me is always a little inspiring, I can start from scratch, I can finish or create new to do lists that I didn’t create before. I can just have a new perspective and it’s almost like a second chance to do other things that I hadn’t done, like writing a blog post. It’s been so long since I chatted and I used to over think about what to write about. But it doesn’t have to be fancy filled with amazing pictures, it can be a simple update like what we are doing now. Really hoping I can continue to write and share more with you all from motherhood, to home stuff to whatever you all are interested in seeing.

I definitely want to get back into creating more content, more tips and tricks, great deals and just things like that. Hoping to continue with just keeping a journal, writing down my thoughts and being able to step away from work and the computer and commit to my other hobbies that I love so much. Which reminds me, yes I will be doing another spring summer garden, so would love to do a grow along and just share some stuff that I had done last year, some stuff I wish I knew and some things I would do differently. I definitely have a better idea of which seeds, veggies, flowers I like best.

Anywho, sorry for jumping a little all over the place just wanted to share how hopefully and amazing I hope 2022 is, how excited we are for all the challenges that we will face, if I say it out loud then I will have a better grip when things start tumbling down hill 🙂

xoxo
