So it’s been a few weeks since we came back from California and lets just say the trip was one for the books. You don’t go to San Francisco and not visit Napa, since it’s such a short drive over the Golden Gate Bridge and then some, but quite honestly it’s a really pretty drive and a ton of great places to eat. Make sure to plan ahead and map out where and how far apart your wineries are, makes for such an easy and eventful day. Whether you are there to enjoy the reds, the whites or just the landscape, Napa alone is just one of a kind. I have narrowed down 4 wineries that we spent the most time at and really enjoyed.

So we had a few wineries/vineyards we wanted to see and try so we actually started from the top and worked our way down.

1. Castello de Amorosa, the drive up is just beautiful, felt like I was in France or Italy. Arnel’s favorite part was the fact that they had the cutest and sweetest farm animals and honestly the cutest part was how the animals were responding to the grounds keeper. Also a great spot for a quick cheese and fruit platter and some wine on the gardens,
2. V. Sattui Winery, one of my favorites, the staff is super friendly and so knowledgeable, loved how freely we could just roam through out the grounds. Beautiful gardens, and thousands of roses, just breathtaking. We enjoyed lunch out on the lawn (they have a ton of picnic tables) with delicious Moscato (I know they say that’s not real wine but it’s my favorite).
3. Nickel & and Nickel, if you are looking for a super cute, picture perfect winery then you have to pay them a visit and do the tour, make sure that you make an appointment because there are a few wineries that are by appointment only. Also if you are a Cabernet lover then you will love them!
4. Domaine Carneros, this one is too pretty for words, I loved every second of it, even their adorable little gift shop that I ended up purchasing like 4 hand lotions (random I know). You must try their sparkling wine and their truffles were pretty tasty as well 🙂
What are some of your favorite wines and wineries?
