Red Cashmere Sweater, Topshop Camel Coat, Rag & Bone Jeans, White Converse, Louis Vuitton Speedy
I was so excited for our trip to Virginia; hadn’t been up there since May and was in dire need of some exploring. Most of the time when I visit my parents I end up indulging in home cooked meals and lounging on the couch. This time, Arnel and I had made plans to browse around the city and explore some places that I hadn’t prior. As many of you know, I grew up in Richmond and went to undergrad there but there is so much you miss out on or so much you don’t bother to explore. So I played tourist in my own hometown which was so fun.
A fun fact; Arnel and I had our first date at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts so it was nice to go back and reminisce of our first date over 5 years ago. It’s also my favorite museum ever, the grounds and interior are stunning and the various sculptures and paintings are beyond dreamy. If you are ever in Richmond, I highly recommend visiting the VMFA.
After, we set out to grab some lunch in Carytown, which is another trendy place in RVA, it’s filled with boutique shops and local restaurants. If you are into Greek and or Mediterrean cuisine then definitely try Greek on Cary. For desert just head on over next door to Carytown Cupcakes and grab a few to go. Carytown is also a great place to see street art and purchase a souvenir, from handmade pottery to handmade jewelry crafted by local artisans. It’s such a neat place and depending on the season and month they always have some sort of festival going on.

I knew I would be doing a ton of walking because that’s all our itinerary had entailed, I mean who wouldn’t want to just park their car and set out to explore all the gorgeous neighborhoods and scenery, it’s all truly spectacular. I was used to all the bare trees back in Georgia that I couldn’t get over the bright leaves, the vibrant reds and pinks with bright orange and yellows; the north truly has some of the most amazing fall seasons.
With all the walking I knew I had to pack some walking shoes so my White Converse were a must, I pretty much wore them the whole time. Since they run a little big I purchased them in a size 6 (also wore thick socks with them). I also wore them to San Francisco (seen here). Also like these Adidas, currently on sale and this Classic Adidas pair; have seen them everywhere lately. It was a bit chillier in VA than what Arnel and I were used to so a coat and sweater were a must. I opted for this Topshop Camel Coat, hesitant at first after reading reviews but was pleasantly surprised when it came in. The exterior is super soft, feels like fleece and the sleeves hit right at my wrists (wearing a size US 2 for reference).
This Red Cashmere Sweater is super soft and perfect for the holidays (also comes in a ton of colors). It’s great for work and or jeans, as seen on me or even tucked into a festive skirt. I am wearing a size small for reference! I also found several other red sweaters that I am crushing on; this J.Crew Red Merino Wool, Red Bubble Sleeve Sweater & Red Scalloped Sweater.
My Rag and Bone Jeans are one of my favorites, the fit is excellent (not too tight) and not too lose; boyfriend fit. They have a bit of stretch to them, with this style I had to size down to a 25 and I am normally a size 26 in jeans. I also found a similar pair here (have them in black seen here) & this pair here.
My mother gifted me this handbag and I was more than willing to accept it. It’s great for travel and great to use as an everyday bag, very spacious and accommodating. I will be sharing more recaps from my visit to Richmond so stay tuned!
