It’s already mid January and I have been flip flopping between pulling out my spring attire only because we had a few days of 50 degree weather and or still bundling up to cozy pullovers and blankets because we got snowed in today. But spring is just around the corner and I am already excited to share what my favorite investment pieces are and have been and what I continue to shop for and a few suggestions to keep in mind the next time you are shopping.
While we are constantly looking ahead and waiting for the newest collection and worrying so much about the “hottest item” but I try not to dwell too much on fast fashion because I want to be able to wear it year after year, season after season. I often mention “investment pieces” and I have included a list of my favorite items that I am always scouting for.
Dresses
No matter the season, I am always looking for fun cotton or cotton blend dresses. Since we live in the south, I definitely get a ton of wear out of my dresses. It stays pretty warm in Atlanta for much of the year, while we do get all the seasons, the temps tend stay pretty warm from about March to late October even November. While I love dresses and will spoil myself with a splurge here and there, I definitely justify my purchases when I can get a discount. Recently I had ordered a ton from Matches Fashion and NetAPorter, since they were having amazing sales. You can’t go wrong with a white dress, they are perfect for cookouts, vacation and weekend wear.
Cashmere
While it’s a pricey indulgent I love finding end of season cashmere because it almost always goes on sale and you will want to invest in a few cardigans and sweaters. I promise you will thank me later, because when the season is here to actually wear them, you will have them ready to go and won’t have to pay full price. This light gray cardigan I feel like I wear constantly, even during the summer especially when I am in the office.
Denim
I love a great pair of jeans, most recently I have loved the “Rocket” style by Citizens Of Humanity, another style I love is the straight crop fit especially this pair by AG. The high waisted denim has been my go to and it’s so flattering, can’t go wrong. Lately I feel like I have had the same 4 pair on rotation and I am not complaining.
