May was a fun month to try out new products and items, definitely needed to test out a few things especially with the summer the summer heat on the rise.
With the summer heat and summer showers comes the humidity and my hair can’t handle the humidity one bit! I mean I style my hair and by the time I get in and out of the car it’s a disaster! One thing that has saved me from looking like a train wreck is this Living Proof Humidity Spray. Proof that the spray works, if you saw my recent post with the Gingham Romper, that hair was after walking 7 miles in the heat! It also comes in a travel size which I will need to get for my upcoming travels because I currently can’t live without it.
Second Favorite item is this Lancome Mascara Primer, while I have been blessed with pretty long lashes, every girl needs a little help every once in a while and this primer is no joke! You don’t have to wait long at all, once you apply the primer just start applying the mascara of your choice. I have been using this Bobbi Brown Mascara and love the fullness and thickness it gives my lashes. One thing I will add, it does dry up pretty quickly and the brush is massive, so I wouldn’t recommend it for all my ladies with smaller lashes, you will get it all over your eyelid (just keeping it real). My sister however did purchase this Bobbi Brown Mascara, I will report back on more details, might even have to get one myself to test it out.
Third favorite purchase definitely has to be these new Tory Burch Sandals! When I first saw them, I loved how different they were from the Tory Burch Original sandals, the entire bottom is leather, no stitching and I loved how clean and simple they looked. You may have noticed that I have been wearing them on repeat lately and they really are a staple, a bit of a splurge but I know they will be a pair I reach for often. Love that they can be worn with dresses during the summer as well as just plain jeans and a t shirt! It took a second to break them in because they are leather so after a few wears, they were golden. I went up half a size in these and so glad I did.
Fourth favorite item or items would be Silk Scarves that I have loved incorporating in my looks. I have added them in my hair as a head band, in my pony tail for work and on my handbags. It’s such a fun way to add a pop of color especially to an all neutral look or to an all white look. You can see how I styled it as a headband in my most recent blog post here.
Last but not least one of my dearest and favorite handbags that was purchased was this Simon Miller Bag that I had been crushing on forever now! It does come in a ton of other colors, the quality is amazing and it’s one of my favorite gifts I had received from Arnel, it was an anniversary gift. I basically want to wear it everyday! I have been into mini handbags lately, they are versatile, functional and really look great for a fancy night out or for a weekend casual look. You can see how I styled it in my recent blog post here. I also found two on sale Here and Here.
Hope you have really enjoyed these monthly favorites, can wait to share this series every month!
xoxo
