It’s All About the Print

Orange Blossom Shorts (similar under $20), Eyelet Navy Top, Raffia Sandals, Shell Straw Bag

While I was packing for my Charleston trip, I made sure to plan all my outfits ahead of time, which is probably one of my favorite travel tips. Put your whole look together( the top, the bottom, the shoes) and only pack that; that way when you reach for your outfit of the day, it will all be in one place. It makes life so much easier especially when getting ready. My husband loves it; also keeps your suitcase extremely organized and you aren’t digging for clothes trying to put things together last minute. I might have to add that packing for this trip was a ton of fun and this might be one of my favorite easy go to looks!

Solid or Print, isn’t that the ultimate question? I say, buy the print! This spring/summer’s trend are vibrant colors/prints and eyelet tops. I have spotted them everywhere; from little boutiques to department stores. Sometimes it can get overwhelming, figuring out what to purchase what not to purchase. When it comes to me I make sure that I can pair it with something that I already have in my closet. When I grabbed these Orange Blossom Shorts (these are too cute for under $20). I figured they would go great with a solid tank top (white or navy) or my eyelet top. It would also look great with a pair of wedges if I want to dress it up or a great pair of flats like these Raffia Double Strap sandals. For those chilly nights I can throw on my Linen Cardigan (last seen here). The shorts are perfectly woven in a thick cotton fabric, the length is just right, not too short not too long. Personally, it’s hard to find a great pair of shorts, one of my daily struggles (quick tip: longer shorts on petite individuals give the illusion of shorter legs, which isn’t always so flattering, on me at least).  These also hit mid waist which will actually elongate your body and slim your waist.

I wasn’t the tannest person and was feeling pretty pasty, so I didn’t reach for a tank top to bring along. My Navy Eyelet Top is the ideal alternative to a tank top or short sleeve top, it’s currently 30% off with the code BIGSALE. Also love this Navy Eyelet Dress version which I purchased recently. The detailing and cotton fabric is super soft; the collar and sleeves add a unique touch. I wore this top all morning and afternoon as we biked around Charleston, the holes were perfect for feeling the breeze. Wearing a size 2 because I am actually pretty busty and don’t always want a fitted look, I had originally wanted to wear this with a pair of white skinny jeans but opted out for a more fun look. Also another cute detail are the buttons along the front and it also has a unique trim along the bottom. I have it in white but comes in this bright yellow, which would actually look great with a pair of white skinny jeans. This White Sleeveless Top is perfect for those who would prefer to opt out of the long sleeves.

My sandals have been selling out everywhere, I purchased them a few weeks ago and knew I would be wearing them quite often. They run a tad bit small, so make sure you size up half a size, I am normally a 6.5 but I went with the 7. As for my Straw Shell Handbag, I have gotten a ton of compliments on it! It was such a spontaneous little purchase, best thing is, it’s under $25. It has a light fabric lining on the inside and extremely spacious for a little bag.

To all my sweets lovers heading to Charleston soon, make sure you stop by Sugar Bakeshop, it’s the cutest little shop, almost hidden. It’s located on Cannon St, so if you are in the neighborhood head on over there for a yummy cupcake. We did a ton of exploring all day long and as we were headed back to our hotel, I made sure Arnel and I grabbed a few cupcakes to go. They also have a super cute stationary store right down the street. Probably one of my favorite things about Charleston are the locally owned shops, it’s amazing to see how much the community cares about one another and supports their local artisans and shops.

I may or may not have devoured a few cupcakes before we got back to the hotel 🙂 Hope you all have an amazing week! (linked the items and similar items below)
