WAYF Floral Dress, Sandals (similar), Cardigan, Straw Bag
If it’s one city that you have to visit, it’s definitely Charleston; everywhere you turn, the streets are filled with historic homes in vibrant shades of pastels and planters are accompanied by the most gorgeous arrangement of flowers. It’s probably one of the most charming cities in the US and I was so excited to explore. Since we were there for a quick 3 day trip, our itinerary was packed from morning to night.

Our hotel was right on King St. which is filled with all the cutest shops and restaurants, as we walked along we noticed the Charleston Farmers Market in Marion Square which was such a pleasant surprise, loved all the local artisan crafts and local food. Arnel and I picked up some Gyro’s, which were delicious. We grabbed an empty picnic table under a tree; enjoyed the breeze, atmosphere and a delicious meal. The rest of the afternoon we check out a few art galleries, which is probably one of my favorite things to do when we visit new cities. My favorite was the Atelier Gallery, some of their paintings looked like photography, the precision and detailing blew my mind. The staff was very sweet and informative which is always a plus. Now I just need one of their paintings in our apartment 🙂 They also have the cutest boutiques, which is why I am heading back in June, taking my sister and indulging in a weekend full of shopping.
Later that evening we rode bikes down to the French Quarter for dinner, we actually ended up walking through the crowded streets, the last thing I want to do is fall flat on my face off my bike. We like to get lost and wander off, avoid the main streets, which is where we found this secluded little spot to snap a few photos, the sunset was amazing and glimpse of sun in the distance just felt like heaven on my face.
The weather was just right, in the high 70’s, no humidity, which is a bonus because my thick hair and humidity result into a birds nest. (lol) Since we would be by the water and coastal cities tend to get a little breezy in the evenings, I grabbed this linen blend cardigan before my trip and so glad I did, it was light and comfy, perfect to throw on over my dress, in love with the neutral color; I will get a ton of use out of it. My WAYF floral dress was the perfect length for exploring the city, love the tiny floral detailing and the blush tones. Also love this dress and this one. My flat Steve Madden sandals have been sold out but I have linked a similar pair here and here. I found this shell straw bag a few weeks ago, thought it would be perfect for the spring and summer. I actually wore it with every outfit during my trip. It’s perfect for carrying around and looks cute with just about anything, also can’t beat the price. I also adore this straw clutch and this woven clutch (love the colors).
I would be lying if I didn’t mention that I worked up an appetite for some major dessert, so stopping by Jeni’s on King Street for some delicious ice cream before we headed back to our hotel room was a must. Their lines are always long so there is no way to avoid that, but it’s so worth it, I promise!
According to Arnel I passed out like a little baby!
xoxo
