Eyelet Top & Navy Shorts

Navy Shorts, White Eyelet Top, Kate Spade Wedges (similar), Straw Shell Bag (last seen here)

Don’t the houses look like an absolute dream? I wish every house was covered with greenery and vibrant flowers. No wonder everyone looks so happy in Charleston, who wouldn’t be when you are surrounded by cotton candy colored homes and fresh flowers daily. It just looks like a happy little town!

Since it was Easter weekend, the streets were busier than normal so I knew if we wanted to beat the rush we would have to get breakfast and coffee pretty early. Since The Daily was about half a mile from our hotel, we got up early and walked there for breakfast and coffee, to my surprise everyone else was thinking the same thing so a line was already starting to form. The previous day full of activities had worn me out so I ended up ordering a strong coffee (Tahini Mocha, with an extra shot), I needed that extra shot, for breakfast I had the Avocado Toast which was pretty delicious. With a full tummy and some extra energy I was ready to take on the day.

We headed out to explore the neighborhoods; if you want to see some spectacular homes head down to South of Broad and go down Tradd St, I promise you won’t regret it. I wanted to stop at each and every home and take a picture. I almost missed a few stop signs; got a little carried away and was in total amazement everything, especially the historic architecture, the greenery and floral arrangements, thank goodness for my sweet husband who spent more time making sure I didn’t get run over instead of enjoying the views (whoops, sorry babe).

Also I feel like I have to throw this out there, but I was actually really sad to see the horse carriage rides, the poor horses just look so miserable, it really broke my heart. There are so many amazing things to do in Charleston, especially bike riding, and so many other walking tours that I would recommend, but we don’t support the horse carriage ride tours 🙁

After exploring the neighborhood we went down to the Battery District and White Point Garden, which is a 5 acre public park with gorgeous landscape; right by the water which makes for an amazing spot for a picnic under the trees. We actually picked up lunch at Five Loaves Cafe and had a cute little lunch date outside. They have an amazing Juice Bar next door, highly recommended! Their sandwiches are so delicious and their staff is super sweet. Be sure to wait for the next post to hear where we ended up getting dessert!

My favorite part about Charleston had to be the fact that everyone rides bikes in heels, yes you heard me, heels! I thought it was the cutest thing ever.

I had actually purchased these Kate Spade wedges a few weeks ago and I haven’t been able to find them online anywhere. They have been a grab and go lately, to work, to meetings, on the weekends and that is why they were a must for Charleston, they seriously go with everything. Love the nude and the low platform wedge, doesn’t feel like you are wearing heels at all. I found a similar Kate Spade wedge and another similar pair here. My White Eyelet top was perfect for a day out in the city, the little holes make for a nice breeze. I had purchased the navy, but thats for a later post! If you love a bright color, then you will adore the yellow! (PS it is true to size). These Navy Shorts are so soft and comfy, they feel like a million bucks, they also fit true to size. And how adorable are these linen shorts and these light blue ones? I couldn’t stop wearing my little shell straw bag, it’s actually very spacious on the inside. These pieces are so interchangeable and can be worn again by mixing and matching them with other pieces, linked some options below.
