South Carolina has easily become one of our favorite little places to visit. After our visit to Charleston, see post here, here, here and here we just fell in love with the South Carolina coast and wanted to explore this summer. We decided on Bluffton, SC; a small and quiet historic little town outside Hilton Head and only a 4 hour drive from Atlanta. We set out on our drive early Friday morning so we could beat the morning rush out of the city and arrived in Bluffton right around noon.

After getting all settled in we walked over to the local square to explore which was starting to fill up with visitors and locals.  After working up an appetite we grabbed a quick lunch at the Corner Perk, which is an adorable little cafe with an amazing menu and a great vibe. With the humidity steadily increasing, I grabbed a strawberry lemonade on the way out to stay cool for the rest of the afternoon. This Striped Dress was perfect for the South Carolina heat and has quickly become a favorite, love the linen fabric and button front detailing. I found a similar Short Sleeve Dress for under $70 and how cute is this Button Front Mini Dress for under $50.

Arnel and I both love art, I used to paint as a hobby back in the day, nothing fancy just abstract pieces and enjoy seeing the work of others and how much love and passion they put into their creations which is why we had to visit the local art galleries, also within walking distance of our cottage and cafe. For dinner we decided on  The Pearl which had an exquisite menu filled with seafood; one of my favorites along with a wide selection of wines and cocktails. After dinner we strolled through the neighborhoods and headed back to our cottage to just rest and relax.

After a beach day in Hilton Head on Saturday we headed to Palmetto Bluff, a small community just outside the Bluffton Historic District. The 3 mile drive into Palmetto Bluff was gorgeous, we had our windows rolled down and enjoyed the breeze on our sun kissed skin. The quiet and secluded community is filled with gorgeous homes, an Inn along with several restaurants and quaint little stores. Since we planned to eat on the patio for dinner, I wore this Light Blue Romper which was perfect for the summer evening. I also found this adorable OTS Eyelet Romper and this similar Seersucker one for $45.

We decided to have dinner at Buffalo’s for a quiet pizza night on the patio, since we were early, we ended up with the whole patio to ourselves and the gnats.  Before the evening rush came through, our server Victoria gave us the history of Bluffton and how much it had grown in the last several years. She also informed us of Gourmet S’mores on the lawn by the River House after dinner, it’s open to the public so everyone is welcome and I thought how neat is that?!  So for dessert we walked over to the lawn only to be greeted by a cart full of marshmallows in assorted flavors; mint chocolate chip, strawberry, you name it. As I indulged in my sweet treat, we found a quiet little spot on the dock just the two of us and watched the sunset and thanked our lucky stars for such a sweet weekend.

Sunday we packed up and headed home but before the 4 hour drive, we picked up breakfast and several pastries at The Twisted Bakery.

If you are shopping the NORDSTROM SALE, I have linked all my favorites under my SHOP PAGE.
