Thanksgiving in Richmond

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! Hope you are spending it with your loved ones and enjoying every minute of it. Arnel and I are up in Richmond, VA visiting my family; back at my old stomping grounds. It’s been a while since I have been back and things sure have changed.

Many of you may know, I grew up in Richmond and went to VCU for undergrad so it was so nice to explore the charming old neighborhoods down in the fan area. Love all the cute shops and colorful homes, forgot how gorgeous this city is.

This morning we got up early and had breakfast down at the Quirk Hotel; it’s definitely an instagram worthy place to visit and have a pastry. The interior is stunning, pink and gray velvet sofas with a curvy sectional and various architectural elements throughout the space. The Quirk Hotel, once a historic department store, is now a chic hotel located in a trendy neighborhood in the heart of Richmond near VCU.

Upon our arrival, I packed a few warm coats since I knew the temps would be much lower than what I might be used to. This gorgeous Emerald Green Tweed Coat is from J.Crew (they are currently having a huge 40% off sale). I love all their coats, this Lady Coat is also very flattering and stunning, recently purchased it in olive (last seen here). I am also loving this wool coat and this wool wrap. I have scooped up so much from J.Crew lately even this White Turtleneck (wearing a small) that I purchased in burgundy, black and striped. It’s the perfect staple and comes back year after year.

 

The Red Lace Pants (also come in black) are so festive, can’t wait to incorporate these in more holiday looks, they would look great with a white blouse or even a black velvet blazer. They have a stretch waistband in the back and fit true to size, wearing a size 0 for reference. For a sparkly effect, I added these Glitter Mary Janes, have wanted them as soon as they came out, they are also 40% off.
